Who we are

Squotipedia is a free trade knowledge resource operated by job.ist Ltd, the company behind squote.app. Our registered address and contact details are available at squote.app.

What data we collect and why

Squotipedia is a read-only knowledge base. Simply reading articles does not require you to provide any personal data.

We collect personal data only when you use the Suggest a Correction form:

• What needs correcting and Correct information — to review and act on your suggestion.
• Your name (optional) — to credit you on the article and the contributors leaderboard if your correction is accepted.
• Your email address (optional) — to notify you if your suggestion is accepted or if we need to follow up.

We also collect your IP address automatically when you submit a suggestion, solely to prevent abuse (rate limiting). This is not stored beyond the current session.

Lawful basis (UK GDPR)

We process suggestion data on the basis of legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) — specifically, maintaining the accuracy of a free public knowledge resource. Where you provide your name for public credit, we rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time by contacting us.

How we use your data

• To review and action your correction suggestion.
• To credit you on the relevant article and contributors leaderboard (name only, if you provided it and your correction is accepted).
• To contact you about your suggestion (email only, if you provided it).

We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or any automated decision-making.

Who we share data with

Suggestion data is stored in a database operated by Supabase (data processed in the EU/EEA). We do not sell or share your personal data with any third parties for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Suggestion records are retained for up to 2 years for audit purposes, then deleted. If your correction is accepted and your name is credited on the site, that credit may remain until the article is removed. You can ask us to remove a credit at any time.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Restrict or object to processing.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Cookies and analytics

Squotipedia does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. We may in future add privacy-respecting analytics (such as aggregate page view counts) without collecting personal data — this policy will be updated if we do.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
